Putting Video on your PSP

Recently I bought a PSP. I had been looking for an MP3 player like and Apple Ipod Nano or a Sony Network Walkman. But those devices are limited to music and images. Considering the price of a PSP $250 and the fact that it does web browsing, music, movies, pictures and awesome games, I decided to go with the PSP rather than getting a single function device.

On my last business trip I wanted to take along a few movies. I didn’t have the time to rip the dvd’s to my hard drive (see my how-to) so I decided I’d try to use PSP Video 9 (described below) to convert a .tivo file to MP4 (MP4 is the PSP video format). It worked great! Using TiVo to Go (TiVotogo) I transfered shows from my TiVo to my hard drive then I was able to convert and download the TiVo’d shows in no time at all. PSP Video 9 does all the .tivo to mp4 conversion. Best of all it’s free! Check it out here! Here’s a brief description of what it can do…

PSP Video 9 Description
PSP Video 9 is a free PSP video conversion and management application. It can convert regular PC video files (avi, mpeg, etc) into PSP video files, as well as manage/copy these PSP video files between your PC and PSP.

When combined with another application, Videora + PSP Video 9 form the first PSPcasting solution, allowing you to download, convert and copy video to your PSP, automatically using BitTorrent and RSS technology.
