2008 Home Run Derby

The California Home Run Derby is now taking entries!

Players
Everyone will pick 9 players.
-One A player
-Three B players
- Five C players

The C players are everyone else in the majors not on the A or B list.  We’re dropping the substitute player that we used to allow to change at the All-Star break and instead adding a player (9 instead of 8) and dropping everyone’s low homer player at the end of the year, so only the highest 8 will be counted. That means if one of your players is out for the year it won’t hurt your overall total and we don’t have to worry about the All-star break stuff.
We are now taking entries for the California Home Run Derby.  The deadline for making your picks is 9pm PST March 30th.
Payouts
Total prize money will be distributed as follows:
First Place 50%
Second Place 30%
Third Place 20%

Entry Fee
Entry fee is $25.  Make checks payable to J.L. Wardell and send to 4911 Curry Drive, SD, 92115.  Picks due by 9pm PST, March 30th 2008.  Entry fee due by April 7, 2008 (please).

2007 Derby Winners

A nice round of applause please for the Clydesdales, aka Clyde Elkins, who is the 2007 California Home Run Derby Champions!
A big fat check is being handed to them this week in the amount of 375 duckaroos. 2nd place goes out to The Byrdman, Robert Byrd, who will take home a cool 225. Jim Hollyrock Bodack takes third with a smooth 150.
We will be seeing you all next season!!

Team Scores Updated

The leaderboard and rosters now reflect each team’s best eight man score.  Home run totals now reflect the rule that gets applied at the end of the season where the player with the lowest home run total for each team is dropped.

Payments due today




Payments for the Home Run Derby are due TODAY, April 17th.  Either send a check to J.L. Wardell (4911 Curry Drive, SD, 92115) or you can pay online using a credit card at PayPal.  PayPal charges a $1.03 fee so the $25 entry fee has been grossed up when you pay using PayPal.
